i dont understand why a player like Vallejo doesnt bulk up a little, he needs to become much stronger lol

this is our first preseason game so I don't expect a win.
the purpose of this preseason is to see what works and what doesn't and What needs adjustment.

Benzema could do a little better but at least he has a goal so that's a good sign.

Valverde - meh i just don't see it. Give me Odegaard
Ceballos - what a dime
Theo - still the same as last season

Not bad so far, i saw some interesting sequences of press, so i want more of the same. the middle is were we are not doing enough: in attack, i feel like Vinicius and Bale are not coming inside enough to allow the overlap; Valverde and Llorente not doing great bringing the ball up; and in defense, Sanchez and Vallejo are not up to stuff, they play waaaaaay too deep

Well, not surprised by this performance. We are definitely playing like a team that is playing their first match of preseason. I like the little moments here and there but I am mostly glad to see Madrid play again.

Fede hasn't really played a good match, Ceballos was just ok

theo is like marcelo in defense. it's a shame too because he's a great athlete.

benzema, vinicius, ceballos looked great. defense is in shambles, agreed on nick with the wingers needing to come inside more.

I feel like we dont have enough players in the box when we attack. United are defending with alot of players. It becomes too congested in there

Both Fede and Llorente as a pair are not doing great.

Likewise with Vallejo-Sanchez.

both pairs, down the middle, have been the weaker links. i agree, i wouldnt mind Fede coming off for Odegaard

i'm gonna be honest and say i'm very unimpressed with theo. achraf would've even been good to keep as a backup at left back. at least he can defend and has defensive awareness. he plays there for morroco. he's like arbeloa when it comes to attacking, especially on that side Laughing

but, he defends well.

either theo plays as a winger or learns how to defend

You're not feeling it, this is fact. our attack would be better if they cut in more. incoming fullbacks can't overlap if they're still occupying the space.

Lopetegui needs to have a word with vinicius and bale about their attacking roles. WFs need to cut inside so that we have more presence in attack..

we need to keep kovacic at all costs.. we are gonna regret losing him big time. we don't have any vertical midfielders besides modric and him in the team..

Agreed with Doc, not surprising considering we haven’t had much of a preseason, we’re playing kids, some of which will never even get near our bench (Valverde, Javier Sanchez).

Vinicius was the best of the bunch for me, Ceballos, Odri and Theo had hot and cold moments, Valverde, Javier Sanchez, and Casilla were all awful. Other than that I feel like everyone else had like warm performances.

we are going to sign an actual left back. Achraf is a righty and inverted fullbacks isnt a thing lol

our right side seems to be afraid to push and the left isnt pushing hard enough.

we seem really good keeping the ball ilanf recovering it but doing nothing with it is worse than losing the ball.

I like what I see but I think we need more initiative.

edit: that was a nice first touch by raul de thomas. he's pretty good.

Think it was because we've got a lot of midfielders and everyone needed to play a bit.

Would've preferred him to stay on. He looked great.

we had a very bad beginning but afterwards we pretty much took United out of the game.

don't like losing but there were a lot of positives to see.
I really liked our pressing. Raul de Thomas's first touch is something to consider.

I have more thoughts but I'll discuss it later

Nice second half. I like RDT he can become a back up but we need a striker

Poor Odegaard only played a few minutes. Was excellent when he came on

United time wasting all second half. They have become such a small team ughh
