@Nick, he is great with players that compliment him. He won't give you goals but he'll give you nice crosses, great work rate and a good understanding with the RB. Him and Benz are not compatible because Lucas' main strength is crosses whereas Benz can't attack crosses. Lucas and Ronaldo have a great understading though. He is extremely useful when Ronaldo plays or in thr closing minutes when we send Ramos up to attack crosses

@Turok, I guess we'll see, like our useless attackers Mbappe too hasn't scored a goal this preseason and was putrid in Monaco's first competitive game. I feel the more games he plays the lower his pricetag is going to get. I hope he proves me wrong because we really need a new striker but I doubt it. Monaco have sold most of their team and can't hold onto the ball for more than 3 seconds
If you gavr me a choice I'd go for Dembele with my eyes closed. Stick Ronaldo up top and Dembele on the right and voila we finally have an attacker who can run at defenders and a striker who scores. Win win imo

Bale looks so poor.
One dimensional player; push and run. No dynamism at all.
He looks like he has lost some of his speed as well.

I remember a play where Kovacic busted his arse to run from our half to their box and put Bale through, then he fumbles it/Barca defenders steal it from him and he makes no effortto try and get it back.

Off topic:
Is anyone aware of the possible twist in this Neymar transfer, the part where he ends up playing for Madrid in say 3 years time.
I assume he would have given PSG an ultimatum of winning CL and Balon d'or in 3 years, after which he would move to become the face of Madrid. No one obviously expects Neymar to finish his career at PSG
Ever noticed that during his time in Barcelona, he never for once said any negative thing about Madrid?
So he goes to psg for 222 million, he becomes better, Madrid buys him for 250 million and he becomes our talisman. Outrageous theory, but still remember this post..

you think someone will buy for 222 and sell for 250? lol. besides he'll be older and some new talent may appear in that time fram. the world isn't static. a year is a long time in football let alone 3. and besides, i doubt the madrid hierarchy (whoever is president at the time) will want anything to do with neymar snr and his kind of negotiations

good answer tito, i think madrid fans need to understand the new football order, we are not the rulers of the universe. There are teams out there with legit ambitions, just as big as ours. maybe not the past, but they make sure their future is just as bright

Re: 2017/2018 - Real Madrid Offseason Discussion
A few things I've noted this pre season
- Bale has to find a way to get fit 100% from his injuries. He seems like he's lost muscle mass, maybe to prevent injury, who knows. And ironically I think because of that loss in muscle, he's slower, weaker and his style of play has suffered because he completely relies on his physical attributes along with his great left foot.
but so far, he has been terrible during our pre-season. He needs to step it up or be benched
-Benz needs to score. He's doing everything but that. I have way more belief because for the first time he's looking ridiculously fit. Go look on his Instagram. Fatzema is no more. But find the net or play as a CAM. Can't be a striker and not score even if you play well.
- Kovacic needs more games, his dynamism and pace through the middle as well as his passing through multiple lines is exactly what we need at times. Crossing and spreading the play usually our are go-tos but I feel we struggle through the middle at times and kova can solve that problem
- Asensio and isco also need way more games. No explanation needed there.
No Ronaldo. No goals. We need a reliable finisher if CR is injured, hurt, or rested. This is benz's last chance to show that he can do the job. Like I said, he looks way faster and fitter then last season so we'll see

Yeah I gotta say fennec, I've seen every preseason game so far and saying that benz is doing everything except scoring is way too much praise. He has been just as bad as Bale if not worse. Plus he's not looking that fit, doesn't seem to be trying in matches, and to me he looks out of shape.

Neymar is not coming to Madrid. End of. PSG don't need money and they don't give their players release clauses. Nobody, not even the player, can force them to do anything. Very much like Bayern.
We are messing up the Mbappe transfer big time. Barca have jumped in now and have offered the same deal as Madrid to both Monaco and Mbappe. According to reports, he is considering it. Playing next to Messi and Suarez appeals to him. they're also moving on Ousmane Dembele.
Damn it.

Re: 2017/2018 - Real Madrid Offseason Discussion
I can see how Madrid could be inclined not to move on him. We have veteran players who are (in their eyes) not in serious need of replacement- just like how Navas isn't being swapped for De Gea.
Yes it would be an improvement, but do ZZ and Perez think it is necessary? Probably not.
Overall this summer has been very mixed. Investing in young Spanish players in the midfield and defense has been a plus, however selling Morata without replacing him is going to make it very difficult to win the league.
As many have pointed out, Morata supplied a lot of goals when Benzema was under performing, and secured us points we needed to win the league last season. Without an extra striker I have serious doubts we will be able to replicate last season.

Just went to the preseason practice here in Chicago and bale and benzma combined scored a total of 1 goal. Ramos scored more than them. Bale couldn't hit the backside of a barn to save his life smh. We're in trouble lads

Yeah, my friend actually went as well (lucky bastard). He said Bale is actually as bad as we are talking about and it isn't an overreaction. Our early season form is probably gonna see some stuttering.

Bale was the first to leave practice and I dont think he even signed anything. At least benz stayed until he scored. Bale didnt look to happy throughout the practice tbh

Apparently Bale left early due to some discomfort in his achilles tendons.
It has started already

I really hope Ronaldo can hit the ground running immediately. Almost improbable after his lengthy time off but we are gonna need his goal scoring feats one time.

On the good news side, that means Asensio and Isco are going to play a lot with Bale out (again). But that also means that CR is going to carry a monstrous load unless we bring in another true scorer to help him (common get Mbappe ffs).

Is it true Monaco are asking for 200m? Honestly with his fee jumping from 120m to 160m to 200m I think we should just back off. He is barely worth 120m, but almost double that? Come on, no one is worth that, certainly not a striker who has yet to put 2 seasons together.
Let's shift and just go for Alexis ffs.
Any other ideas?
