Today, France the host, younger players like Griezmann and Pogba lead the team, and Ronaldo faces them.
The pressure is on France but the history and quality is with them.
I can only see Portugal winning this with some sort of set piece goal or on penalties, or else France should win.

France has an epic winning streak going against Portugal... they haven't beaten us or even drawn us since the 70s in any game, official or friendly.

Yeah but Germany was clearly more talented than Italy here.
We beat Germany on home soil with a talented team where both sides were missing key players.
Against Portugal... unless we don't recover quickly enough... we're clearly much more talented. And it's in France.

Personally wanna see the salty tears of Hans and Cruijf if (when) Portugal scrub their way to a win. Also wanna see what fresh excuses Sports would come up with.
At the same time, really wanna see Sports be all cocky and chest pumping in these parts with what would be a great tournament for France if they put a hiding on Portugal.
All in all, I can't be disappointed.

@Doc... the issue is that the Final is on Sunday... less than 72 hours after this semifinal game. France may not recover physically. In fact, they won't. It's not possible. You just hope they don't lose too much.

That maybe, no, that is gonna be an issue but at the same time, France is clearly better than Portugal. I would like to think it won't be an huge issue though an issue nonetheless. And while I have my own nefarious wishes for Portugal to win, logic tells me this is France's final.

Under normal circumstances I'd be rooting for France, simply the better team. But Ronaldo scrubbing his way to a title with his nation in the same summer in which Messi chokes and quits his would guarantee immense banter on the Interwebs which I want to see.
