It just seems such awful business to pay 5m more for a player that's already ours.

Pay 15m more and that's a 20m attacker we could get. Guys like Lacazette and Firmino would probably be in and around that cost.

I agree. He's better than any midfielder we have and still young. He's also quite tenacious and we could use that.

Not the Russian league no but their European matches, his time at Benfica, Standard as well as most of his internationals. You must watch the Russian league then yes to want to shoot yourself if we signed him?

You will not get Christoph Kramer in Winter. He's on loan at BMG and Gladbach will not let him go until he completed the loan contract, and Leverkusen can't sell him in Winter as he has to fulfill the loan first.

Oh, and something else - Leverkusen will certainly not sell Bernd Leno easily as he still has a contract till 2018 and there is no release clause I have heard of.

I'd have an insider tip for you, though: You should go for Loris Karius from Mainz. His contract runs out in 2015, and he is the next big thing among the young goalies coming from Germany.

I doubt we're signing a keeper and if we did, I'm pretty sure it'd be someone old'ish who can a) perform at a good level straight away and b) be easily benched, too.

Possibly. He's a bright talent. The only problem is that he will not join a team where he isn't guaranteed a starting spot, and thus he might actually extend at Mainz as there he is guaranteed playing time so that he can properly develop.
