Isco
There are quite few players who have had immense talent in them, but they could never do much with it because of how limited their other attributes were. I honestly thought Isco might turn out to be like them. I was a critic of his limited play, but I can wholeheartedly admit that I was terribly wrong.
I can't remember a player who has improved his game(specially his weak sides) as much as he has since Ancelotti took over at Madrid. His defensive work is fantastic compared to how he was at Malaga or early on in his madrid career. He is reliable in big matches now and his workrate enables him to fit quite well in Ancelotti's 4-4-2 while he can even play deeper in midfield if he has to. He has improved his ball retention and if he can improve his final pass then he will be the player everyone thought he would be. At the moment he is 75% there compared to 40% 2 years back. It's great to watch him currently.

Re: Isco
I think Real need to show more faith in him. Buying 80 m worth toys every season to play upfront wont do him any good.
If Flo can resist the temptation for a minimum of 3 transfer windows starting with the next, theres every chance he will develop into a top player.
which lol however is quite difficult a proposition as I can see him going after Hazard, Reus, Sterling et al in the near future.

Did say in the summer, would be glad to take him if Madrid dont value him.
Its good (for them) they now do. Shame (for him) he will have to hit that bench a bit more when Bale returns.

Re: Isco
He was immense tonight.. his close control is one of the best in the world. felt bad for Coutinho on that play
but to be fair to him, Coutinho was one of the bright spots for Liverpool in the match and was unlucky not to have a goal.

Re: Isco
Uh, he did boss La Liga and the CL While at Malaga. They were two 90+ minute goals away from being in the semi-finals. He was easily one of the 5 best players in the league that year.
I know some people on here only care to watch La Liga players play in the Champions League, but the guy has been total class for a long time.
Even when he got to Madrid he was bossing it at first and then he just stopped being put in the side.
As a Barcelona fan I know I was extremely jealous when he chose Madrid over Barca. He needs to play. Period, if he plays regularly he is awesome.

Re: Isco
Agreed. I still thought he was great at Malaga, but he's improve quite bit since his Malaga days.

Re: Isco
Glad to see isco finally getting the recognition his talent deserves..on talent alone, he' better than 80% of footballers his age.my only problem with isco is that as soon as trust is placed on him and he starts getting minutes, or when he gets too comfortable, he'll go back into his pos mode again. He's just too inconsistent for a top player in my eyes, otherwise he'll be a top top player if he can stay disciplined.. I cant even count 5 players his age who are better than him on talent alone tbh.

Re: Isco
I mean at Malaga he was excellent. He is a player that needs the game to be played through him and have him heavily involved.
He's not a guy to pop up here or there or come on in a substitution appearance and close a game out or just show up with a goal while the play is not happening around him.
At Madrid it will never be like that and he has some very talented footballers to compete with so it's not a knock on Madrid but there have been massive talents go through that club and move on to awesome careers elsewhere where they are they "main guy" or facilitator.
It's similar to Ibra at Barcelona, Ibra needs the attack to flow through him and at Barca it was never going to happen as that's just not how they play with Messi and company in the team.
He's a better fit t PSG and the same goes with Isco. Carlo hasn't wanted to give him a consistent role in the team so I'm sure he will be moved on sooner or later but its not like he underwhelmed at Madrid he played very well when he got there and then had an average patch which is pretty consistent with a first year player at the club.

He'll be leaving Madrid soon when they buy a new toy and his development stalls further.

Re: Isco
I adore his game, loved to watch him at Malaga. Truly believe he's Iniesta's successor in the Spain team.
To see him getting praise makes me very happy and I hope he continues to do so.

MoleWinsLol
Anyway, I always rated him as Spain's best midfield talent for the future, ahead of Thiago and even Koke. Agree with Mole on him being Iniesta's successor. When he is on his stride, he is one of the most entertaining players to watch.

Re: Isco
He won't leave Madrid as long as Ancelotti is there. He appreciates him and has truly transformed him into another level. Madrid finally got a good coach who cares about the club and the players rather than some part timer who just focus on the results.
Everyone who watched him at Malaga obviously knew how good he was. There is a reason Madrid bought him. But the way Ancelotti has transformed him is the reason why I made this thread at all. I remember how hard he worked against Sociedad few weeks back when Madrid lost 4-2, probably the only one as well.
Bale should stay on the bench if this current system with James, Isco, Kroos n co works so well. However Clasico will tell us a lot more when Madrid face their biggest test this season.

Agreed, I flat out expected them to sell him when James got there.
And Ancelotti is a great coach but the has not transformed Isco. Isco was ready to go as a top class player the minute he got to Madrid.
I don't know how people can sit here and give Ancelotti all this credit for Isco's game when he doesn't play him very much and he was pretty much the finished product when he got there.
