Re: Pochettino new coach of Spurs
I see a lot of people on the internet praise Pochettino for the «halftime talk». Son was just interviewed by a Norwegian reporter and his response to the question of what Pochettino told them at half time was «nothing special, just go out there and work hard to win»

But but but but
"HE HASNT WON ANY TROPHIES!!!"
Making it to the CL finals with probably the lowest net spend in the PL in the last few years>>>winning the FA/Carabao cup
Like I said even back when Ole had a good run of form with United, he was the one who they always should've hired. Oh well, I guess he'll join them when they sack Ole.

Re: Pochettino new coach of Spurs
The upside to United is that Poch can make them guarantee they buy. Spurs are so tied up in the stadium deal that they can't have a positive netspend for possibly years to come.
Poch should just go to Juve, Bayern or PSG and wait for the RM job to open back up.

Re: Pochettino new coach of Spurs
They've been tight with money right now leading up to the stadium. Including renting Wembley.
It's very possible that given how dead this Tottenham team has been all season, how far they've gone in the CL, and having lost a starter in Dembele, that Tottenham open up the purse this summer.
I can't see Spurs going light again after no transfers for a year and making the CL final. They've got a new stadium, will finish one of their best seasons in recent history this year, and will be itching to take another step forward, I think.
Or they'll go the way of Arsenal and spend little. Who knows

Re: Pochettino new coach of Spurs
[Translation] Pochettino's full amazing interview with El Pais: "Rejecting Real Madrid was hard. It was a matter of every coach's dream. It gives you a conflict. But I had just renewed with Tottenham. Those are not my values. Also, why should a club sign a coach who doesn't fullfil his commitments?"
Such an obvious, but great, rhetorical question. I've asked myself why we should sign Pogba, when he seems perfectly content with seeing his team lose, and then jumping ship to another team while leaving behind problems that he has contributed towards. He hasn't even achieved anything substantial with Man United. I wouldn't hire a guy like that, unless his former job treated him like shit, which isn't the case. Pochettino seems like a genuinely upstanding guy.

He hints he could. Probably softening the blow before he leaves in the summer. Wouldn't say Juve for sure, could just as easily be Bayern or PSG. I think the latter 2 are more likely.

While I hope Spurs disappears from existence, Levy would be a real dork to not give the man the resources to improve his squad as he is the reason Spurs is where they are currently.

Sincerely hope he joins Juventus. We need someone that plays with balls and not this nonsense cowardice we have with Allegri

Re: Pochettino new coach of Spurs
Football fans are fickle fucks. Has to be repeated time and time again.
If Barca was getting through City with VAR rescuing us in the 96th minute and we got battered by Ajax and fell behind 0-3 after 135 minutes but somehow a long ball in the 96th minute + hattrick of a certain player rescued us again, we'd demand our coach to get sacked because he is clueless and the players and lots of luck were responsible - not the coach.
Yet now Barca fans want Pochetino.

Re: Pochettino new coach of Spurs
Couldn’t agree more. Coaches, for better or worse, are responsible for everything, according to football fans. Doesn’t matter if the wins are fluky or the losses are due to team diarrhea. The coach has to be held accountable at all times

Re: Pochettino new coach of Spurs
One, if he goes Barca, you guys are paying him Pep esque wages as he is an Espanyol through and through.
Two, why are you surprised? Are you surprised? I doubt you are tbh. You've been a Barca fan too long to be surprised. Valverde is probably gonna win another La Liga double and Barca fans (Barcaforum is essentially the gauge of the general consensus) wants him to fk off because of CL results and style of play. And I for one hope they fire him. Sell Rakitic and Suarez too please.

No, I'm not surprised. We have the most awful fanbase of any club, even worse than yours. It's that time of the year again where "Messi should go to City so he can win Ballon d'Or under great manager Pep".
Also Poch wouldn't come to us. I read a quote where he said he'd rather go back to Argentina and become a farmer or something along those lines, not sure if quote is legit or not. But he seems to be Espanyol through and through which I respect.

What are you guys smoking. Po h was Espanyol's captain for a number of years. He will never come to barca.

Re: Pochettino new coach of Spurs
It's like that is all they care about i.e Messi. They are also taking domestic success for granted in a real serious way. It may not be next year, may not be the season after that but eventually, Madrid and Atletico would get their act together, would get their transfers right and all of a sudden, Valverde winning 2 La Liga titles in a row would look grand. Lucho winning 2 La Liga titles in a row would like grand. Nothing lasts...
@BC
Yeah I know, I am just saying you guys would have to pay him a King's Ransom to have even consider working for the club. I also don't smoke you pos.
