It's funny they dropped every Spurs players, but dropping Dembele might've been the wrong decision. De Bruyne and Fellaini are better as attacking-mids, I think the team would've been more balanced with Dembele in midfield with Witsel. Oh well.

I agree with Art. This looks defensively vulnerable. Witsel and Fellaini in centre is not strong enough. I am predicting a draw.

Easily one of the worst match of the tournament. Belgium are awful. Costa Rica are more of a dark horse than them.

Romelu Flopkaku talks a lot of crap for a guy getting outperformed by some Ligue 1 nobody with his national team.

Mourinho has been vindicated.

I cannot understand why they insist on playing so slowly in attack, Belgium. There's no quick one-two's, no decisive runs, no rapid decision-making. They're way too happy to just keep the ball at their feet and take their time. Very easy to defend against such indecisiveness. The manager seems a bit clueless otherwise, too.

De Bench has been underwhelming.

He has earned some wiggle room until the group stages based on his display during qualifying though.

I don't think Belgium will make it to the quarters. Even if they are H1 G2 will knock them out.

Hopefully Lukkaku get's benched.I really can't see how a manager has the balls to play someone like Witsel as a DM.I know he is a DM, but he is too much of a mediocre defender.

Let's not make early predictions though, based on most WCs, it's better off having a low start.

I believe his name is Origi. Nice ball control and tried so much more to make something happen.

Good point especially considering who the three are behind Lukaku speed and one twos should only come naturally.

Would Nainggolan have done better? What kind of a player is Defour?

I don't think they have a lot of options, however, their manager could use an actual double pivot to offer their super-exposed back 4 some protection.I would play Witsel-Defour against a team like Argentina.Fellaini is great offensively for them but he doesn't defend.I'd go with

--------Origi--------
-Hazard-KDB--Mertens
-----Defour-Witsel---

Fellaini super-sub

Yes that makes sense but should Nainggolan have been taken in place of Defour or anyone else?

Even a draw will do unless Korea beat Belgium and it comes down to goal difference.
