Since i'm a Fed fan, i can't help myself: Let's not forget that in 2011, which is considered Djoker's greatest year, a past prime Federer beat him at the French, had several match points against Djoker at the US Open, and similarly choked at several key moments in the Australian Open. And Prime Fed ain't losing to Djoko at Wimbledon.

Hoping Federer does a madness and wins this year's Roland Garros. Doesn't Nadal have a niggling injury?

Think I saw a stat somewhere that no modern era player (or ever ever player) has ever won each of all the slams at least twice.

I think we start saying the GOAT list looks like this:
1. Roger
2. Novak
3. Rafa

You mean in a row right?

I think Steffi Graf has done it including a calendar slam. Serena has also won all four in a row twice.

I don't think any man has done it in modern era. Mainly because of Nadal making it near impossible to win the Roland Garros.

My bad, should have said man only.

Roger and Novak need Roland Garros for that, while Rafa needs Aus Open.

Nadal has beaten Federer today to reach the final of RG. He'll either play Djokovic or Thiem in Sunday's final.

Hope he wins the whole thing, but I realize how difficult it is to beat Djokovic, even for someone as dominant on clay court as Nadal.

Lets not discount Thiem just yet.

If Nadal wins, he'll be 2 behind Federer. Still plenty of time to catch up and surpass.

This is just sad. 15 years later and still dominated by the same 3 people.

People talk about Zverve and Tsitsipas being the next big thing. Nadal was already winning French opens at 19.

I don't think it's damning, Nadal, Djokovic and Federer are 3 of the best to ever do it.

It's like saying it's damning against football because Messi and Ronaldo have dominated the sport.

The Messi and Ronaldo era has been kinda damning too.

I dont know if its age, but them dominating has been less magical than the early late 90s-early 00's too.

Especially someone who clearly juiced(I wont name names).

yea

@silver, lol there have been many that have come and gone that were supposed to end the trio dominance, from Tsonga, to Cilic and Nishikori, to Kyrgios, to Zverev and Tsitsipas.

Is it that unusual??? I don't follow Tennis much these days, but I guess there were similar domination from Sampras, Beker, Graff, Navratilova etc. as well.

^^I guess domination from a few players is not that unusual, just the duration this has lasted for this trio.

One would think, at least one player would have come along and do something about it. Andy Murray came closest and did exceptionally well for a time, but most of his success probably also came when all of the three were going through some injuries and transitions in their game and athleticism.

Kyrgios has great touch and a nice serve, but other than his mental health issues, his forehand is also not good enough at all imo.

He's almost 60 years old and Federer still has a shitty backhand. Disgrace. Hard to see as a fed fan.

Don't exaggerate. Yes, we all know it's his weakest point in his gameb, but he has done a lot over his career to compensate for it.

Roger playing slightly better at the moment. Though Novak has won most of the crucial points including both tiebreakers in the first and third sets. The latter leads 2 sets to 1

I've always used the age excuse to justify Federer being better than Djokovic. You know, perhaps 31 year old 2012 Wimbledon champions Federer would steam roll through today's 32 year old Novak Djokovic.

But I just hate Federer's backhand and he's not as mentally strong as Djokovic. Maybe Prime Djokovic IS better than Prime Federer.
