Anyways, so he revealed in his presser that Varane will be rested with Juve's game in mind which is good. Carvajal will also start because he is 'fresher' lmao, i hope that doesnt mean Arbeloa will start vs Juve (god forbid) and Xabi will also start and Khedira might get a rest. He also stated he will rotate alot so I am hoping he means morata and jese and not cacktrao. The line up we will likely see imo is:

This game should be interesting. Rayo Vallecano had more possession than Barca, so I can see us relying on counter-attacks here. Something we shouldn't be doing when Ancelotti wants possession. No point sitting back if the team can't even defend. However this is Rayo Vallecano, just another generic poor La Liga side, so it shouldn't matter.

Rayo have the worst goal difference in the league and least goals scored. They'll probably score one goal if they do score.

Can see this ending 3-0 to Real Madrid.

yh Rayo are the type of team who like to attack and forget to defend. I am never going to take a teams performance vs Barca as some sort of guide about a team. Last time I did we ended up winning 7-3

I think we will control the game but its important we defend as a team otherwise we might as well play them all as forwards because having a midfield will be useless

Yeh defensively there's no system in place. The pressing is decent from the front, but when the opposition are in our half, it's just all random.

Either the team sits back properly, or defends with a high, narrow line to avoid giving the opposition space.

Looks like we're playing against Barcelona. We've had just a about no possession in the past 10 minutes, or so.

Uffff, we got a bit lucky at the end, well lets say last 30 minutes. Our defense is WHACK, those penalties were not necessary, if not for them i see it end 4-0 or something.

4 penalties called against us in two games... that's gotta mean something about our defense

the second half was so poor from us. Everybody just randomly tracking a guy and not sorting out the underlying cause aka the lack of tracking back from the front three

also whats with us hoofing it everytime it came into our posession we essentially just gave it back to Rayo everytime we got it

first half looked so good in fact the second half until their first penalty and since then it went all titanic ffs

Same problems as usual. Good on the counter-attack, poor possession play and defending. Ancelotti yet to fix those problems.

We were average in the first half, awful in the second. Everything went downhill after their first goal.

I have n't seen a more clueless manager than Ancelloti. If a team like Madrid can't maintain a lead of 3-0 against teams like Rayo, Sevilla then it will be worse against bigger teams. Our defensive shape is worse than any mid table team in La Liga. Attacking talent and luck are bailing us out. But this may not last longer. Sooner or later I hope Italian sorts this out. Looks like Marca is already asking for coach's head

Diego has a lot of luck on his side IMO. He made some mistakes against Rayo that could have cost us the game.
