Also looking back i think the real problem there is i got far too aggressive.... Colo pushing all the way out to Gundogan once he's taken out of the game its difficult... the pass goes to Lewa and my RB Zuniga doesn't push out quick enough but it is difficult as Lewa hits it first time into the space.

As for the tactics.... most of the time in have been trying a lopsided 433 with Remy close to being an SS and Ben Arfa holding more width but seeing as i try to cut inside all the time with him it defeats the purpose Laughing

but recently i got annoyed with my inability to break down the midfield so tried Ben Arfa as a false 9 which is kinda working so far but i got arrogant and went back to the 433 against West Brom and lost. Laughing

I'll probably look to getting more creativity and width in the team come the summer window if i can afford it.

The real question is how the f*ck did you manage to get Neymar?

I made 3 signings in the summer: Lukaku, Zuniga and Djuricic( Benfica) and i basically had nothing left afterwards Laughing

Reverting back to old tactics which dont work, sounds Pardew-esque lol

Neymar was pretty easy, like 25m Euros Laughing

I saw there was a 30% chance they would sell, so went for it.

I signed him and a young 4th choice CB from Brazil...forgot his name, never plays (he's 18) other than the 1 cup game so far.

There hasnt been any update for PS3 anywhere you know right? I am kinda missing not having German league and the NT kits are bugging me.

Some of the faces just pain me, but that goes without saying really.

Is it just me or is lag inexistent when playing with South american teams? The game is very smooth and perfect, the mistakes in the game are almost negligible when playing with South American teams.

Fair to say some of the faces look awful. I fear it is the complexity of the new engine because after two months even external modders haven't come up with solid faces that look accurate.

Also, almost no news on gameplay fixes besides a few "gameplay tweaks".

Goalkeepers: Better reactions to initial save

L1 Lob Shot Fix

Gameplay slowdown in final 3rd: Change made to make as smooth as possible

Shooting: Refinements of slowdown to help/have positive impact

Catch-up refined, feeling of sudden catch-up removed

BAL player stats decline – fixed

x2 speed implemented when substituted in BAL

Gameplan cursor speed – made faster

User online block list increased <200%

3 player on same team controller bug – fixed

Gameplay fixes are all spot on and desperately needed.... i believe me and Dani discussed a few of them on that list a couple of months back.

With that said their PR is horrible lol, the update/patch was supposed to be out today but again it got delayed because of the platform order...

But instead of staying off like any normal company would do Konami blew their load and announced the patch would be out today....

Doesn't bother me a great deal as i haven't been playing the game that much since GTA came out but they really shouldn't be making amateur errors like this.

Agreed i'm really enjoying the gameplay changes and fixes tbh.

Although i need to test the shooting a bit more, haven't really had a chance to really see the differences in great detail yet.

Played a match and a half on a friend's PS3. And while it does refine/fix a few things here and there, like shooting, my main gripes with PES 2014 remain the same. That will be other than non-existent online, playing against CPU which is not so much fun any more. I find that teams lack variety and personality when I play them. AI continues to fast break at every chance, no matter if you're playing Barcelona or United. AI continues to double team on every player you have with the strikers and wingers always tracking back because there is no stamina system, you can potentially sprint the whole match or jog it and in the end you'll have the same fatigue. There's also a fair bit of rubber-banding going on which really disturbs simulation and player switching is still a shamble.

PC version will be out tomorrow (although you never know with the muppets at Konami) so I'll fully test the patch later on.

It hasn't been a good start of the year for me with footy games. FIFA on next gen plays very much like it does on current consoles, which at least provides more fun than frustration but is still far from playing like football. I'm looking forward to NBA 2K14 and NBA Live on XB1. Or if all else fails I'll go out on a Friday night and get laid for a change Razz

I honestly don't understand why people are having trouble switching players, I never had this problem. Just use the left stick and L1 on PS3, and it switches to the player I want.

My only problem with the game is fluidity. After the patch, the game is more fluid but still not as fluid as free training mode, which is spectacular in all aspects. As for the tactics, I believe you have to change the tactics on your own because most teams follow a default tactic, hence, why they play the same.

Ever since the patch, I found shooting much more realistic, world class players are able to test the goalkeeper very well if they are positioned to shoot correctly. The way in which you shape the player to take a shot is crucial in this edition, this is due to the weight shift; world class players can position themselves better than regular players.

Also, the improvements of the goalkeepers are spectacular. I honestly find the goalkeepers better than Fifa's who seem to save shots with ease (almost always handling them). You can see the player ID in effect with goalkeepers like Neuer, De Gea, Buffon, Casillas, etc.

I have used FIFA's switching system for 3-4 years and EA have got it close to perfection. No arrows and whatnot involved and it actually works as soon as you tap the right analogue stick. With PES, you first have to watch the arrow which slows the selection - and once you get the arrow to the player and...nothing happens.

I think you should just give it some time, I have not experienced any problems with the player switching system in PES.
