Re: Massive interview with Flo on AS
I think Zidane is taking control a bit here and wants to keep the team mostly intact except Coentrao, Di Maria and Arbeloa. Get rid of some of the dead weight and replace players that want to leave.
As long as Benz and Higuain don't actively push to leave, there's no point in replacing them. They're not a problem at all. i think with Mourinho gone, they wouldn't mind giving it another try for a year. But if you go out and splash 60 mil on a CF, they would be stupid not to leave. Taking a non-problem and making a problem out of it.
Isco... i don't think he'll come. He wants to play. Ozil is blocking him. He's made that clear.
Zizou wants Bale, Kondogbia and one of Pogba/Vidal/Gundogan. I think that's where it ends.

Re: Massive interview with Flo on AS
So he wants 2 midfielders? So we have to get rid of one or 2 of Alonso/Khedira/Modric?
Benz & Higuain will accept rotation yet again?
And Jese should be sold to a club like Leverkusen with a buyback clause imo

Re: Massive interview with Flo on AS
Zidane wants to promote Jese to Madrid, not loan him.
Benz and Higuain had a problem with Mou the last year, never with each other. I think they'd give it another year with a new manager.
Kondogbia will be groomed as Alonso's replacement. As long as Khedira doesn't want to leave, why sell him? If we're going to play 3 mids then we need 5 on the squad. With 2 mids, we need 4.

Re: Massive interview with Flo on AS
Pogba is very happy at Juve and doesn't want to leave. Only thing that would make Pogba change his mind is if Conte were to leave, he were benched or Juve lost competitiveness. None of these things is going to happen this summer.
Kondogbia is highly likely however.

Re: Massive interview with Flo on AS
Jose Mourinho, 2011: Real Madrid can always find a better manager than Mourinho, but never a better president than Perez.
I agree with Jose, Perez has matured a lot since 2009. He learned from every mistake he made. And now with this "Zidane project" I am 101% a believer.

Re: Massive interview with Flo on AS
Higuain deserves to start regularly at a top club like Juventus. I doubt he'll want to continue rotating and he isn't good enough either in the big games to start anymore.
In terms of Bale, it would be an unnecessary transfer. We'd simply be buying 'the hottest/latest/etc' player currently. He doesn't play RW.
Del Bosque would be a good choice maybe after Ancelotti/Heynckes/etc goes?

As long as Flo is president, VDB won't come near Madrid...

Re: Massive interview with Flo on AS
Del Bosque sadly will hold his grudge against Perez to his dying day. We're talking about a man who refused to accept the gold badge (this club's highest honour) because he feels bitter about how his contract was handled.
He was wronged for sure but honestly his refusal to bury the hatchet has gotten quite petty. Oh well we all still respect him a lot even if it's not always a two way street.

Re: Massive interview with Flo on AS
florentino's new interview on cope is just nuts, the man just baffles me with the things that he say. other than the great moment of trolling he gave to SAF, very disappointed with the things he says about Bale or our football model. way too oriented money, that's all he talks about.

The club's finances are Flo's job and that's why he speaks from that view point. He shouldn't really be talking about the footballing aspects of the club that much since that's not his job (something he learned in his first term back in the early 2000's).

Re: Massive interview with Flo on AS
Josh, check on cadena cope, or look on their twitters for plenty of quotes
The way he speaks, he will sign the best players, i.e. Bale, and all will be fine. And when you see the kind of money we are going to shelf for him, you want to cry. He isnt that unique that we should go bonkers for him. Nerman? i would have understood paying 100 millions no problem. Bale? no. the man doesnt even have a brand. and it's about football anyway, and no way he is that good that he justifies that kind of price tag. i wanna get in tune with flo's program but i just cant.
fair enough, he is obviously very proud of the fact that we are a rich club, but im not overly impress by the kind of messages he is trying to sell. His logic is, we are rich, we are going to buy all the good players, and we will be the best. Has he not learned? if he is campaigning for a new term, and i know he has won, he should at least pretend to act like there is a real sporting model behind him.@Zealous wrote:@Mr Nick09 wrote:florentino's new interview on cope is just nuts, the man just baffles me with the things that he say. other than the great moment of trolling he gave to SAF, very disappointed with the things he says about Bale or our football model. way too oriented money, that's all he talks about.

Re: Massive interview with Flo on AS
Perez said:
"Gareth Bale was born to play in Real Madrid," Perez told Cadena Cope.
Looks like he really wants Bale. I think Bale's getting a bit overrated now. I mean he's had like 1 good season being a top player, however it seems like he's being treated like he's won the Ballon d'Or or something.

Re: Massive interview with Flo on AS
If Zidane says Bale is good enough for Madrid. That is the end of argument.
Money is a different matter. That is for Perez to think. Agreed It is obscene amount of money, but when did Madrid care about money. Besides Madrid is not the only club which has money these days. so somebody will buy him for that price.

Re: Massive interview with Flo on AS
again, the logic is very old school.... speed on the wings with great shots/crosses and creativity down the middle. Attack oriented fullbacks. Bayern do it. Dortmund do it. Man U do it. PSG do it. Juve do it.
I completely understand why Zizou is pushing for Bale. He is really the perfect winger. We don't play tiki taka and never will. Putting a AM wide given the way we play doesn't serve any purpose.

I get it somewhat - but Bale is so lopsided, that you put him on the right and he basically becomes a central player. So we're asking for Carvajal for some miracles.
If Ronaldo was on the right and Bale on the left, I'd see some degree of structural sense to it. Both guys would be able to use their pace effectively and both would be prevented from overdoing the shots...but that's not particularly realistic.
Speed and powerr complimented by creativity and guile is good, but not if everyone is going the same place. Not unless Carvajal live in the attacking 3rd and that presents a range of issues in midfield and defense.

Re: Massive interview with Flo on AS
Bale and Ronaldo both cant cross when playing inverted wingers imo. Ronaldo isnt even a great crosser in any situation so it comes down to this question what will Ronaldo and Bale do when they get the ball?
1.Cut inside and shoot.
2.Pass it to striker and make run behind the CBs
3.Pass the ball to wing backs and crash the box for header..
