So we can now give tactical advice to zidane through you right?
Hopefully. Try suggesting Supermag's tactics to Zidane.

Expect sports to defend Zidane no matter what. Even if he chooses Danilo over Carvajal, sports will come up with something to justify that decision
Just picture the war of words that would break between sports and Chad if Zidane benched Benzema

Re: Zinedine Zidane
i wish... i lost touch with everyone almost. There were two clans: The guys who lived in club-provided housing and then those who lived at home. I lived at home.
The Castilla staff is taking over Madrid. I don't think they're qualified tbh. I hope this is temporary.

Nope. I hope he doesn't hand the reins to anybody and make us play as a team.
The players will come and go, but the club will live on.

Re: Zinedine Zidane
He won't bench Ronaldo. I know, he is Zidane, but Ronaldo is an even bigger name

Ronaldo is not bigger than Zidane
Maybe with teenage girls between the ages of 13-19, but that it. My gawd dude.... Of course, you're the one who doesn't consider Zidane a Madrid legend

because he isn't

he was one of the best players to ever play for us, but not a legend. Raul Gonzalez is a legend, Fernando Hierro is a legend, Iker Casillas is a legend.

Re: Zinedine Zidane
Ronaldo is definitely bigger than Zidane in terms of power, political power. The guy is practically calling the shots.

What could possibly go wrong? He's just an interim coach and won't last beyond June if he doesn't win something. Why should he bend over to the untouchables?

Re: Zinedine Zidane
You can't be serious.... no way they fire him in June unless he completely loses both the locker room and the media. He has both in his back pocket. Zidane has a lot of equity at Real Madrid.
He will get the chance to manage next season as well. These last few months are basically a free run for him.

What?

He's not a bigger name in football than Zidane

The point is that Zidane and Real Madrid have nothing to gain by benching Ronaldo. There aren't better players to replace him on the bench and he would lose a massive amount of his resale value. The best course of action is to play him and then sell him as high as possible in the summer.
When you fire a coach in January, there is no expectation for the remainder of the season... you're basically saying that the season has failed. Anything you get is considered a bonus.
That said, you can't fold like a chair... the club needs to perform well enough to maintain the appearance of a top club.

"These last few months are basically a free run for him."
Why would they give him a free run? You really expect him to survive after a trophyless season? Carlo didn't. And the guy who was chosen over him in the summer was fired halfway. You'd be mistaken to think that they don't expect silverware this year.
'Interim coach' means just that. He'll be in charge of guiding the troops to safety. If he wins something, he'll be kept on (this is the bonus). If He doesn't, he'll be let go.

No. I never said Ronaldo is a bigger name in football than Zidane. I said he has more political power than Zidane ever did, if he had any.

Re: Zinedine Zidane
I have my doubts about Zidane, he's pretty inexperienced as a head coach and might not be ready for such a huge task but to hell with it, he can't do worse than Benitez.
At this point i'm just happy that we got rid of Rafa, that guy was totally clueless and should've never been appointed as our coach.

As long as he gets results, you won't survive at Madrid without winning matches.

Re: Zinedine Zidane
It can't be a catastrophic obviously. But if our brand of football improves, we reach CL quarters and we finish 2nd in La Liga... i just don't see how Zidane is let go.
I personally feel the biggest factor is our brand of football. If we are putting out a quality spectacle, then he's doing his job these next few months.

Re: Zinedine Zidane
I have very few expectations for Zidane.
Although it has been coming for some time, I am still a bit surprised. For once Perez is taking a bit of a risk, and he is in a bit of a lose/lose situation.
Zidane does poorly - Perez picked an inexperienced manager
Zidane does well - it will be because he is a football genius, so why didn't this happen earlier?

I'm expecting nothing for the rest of the season other than hoping figures out the tactics and lineups for next season.
I don't expect la liga or CL.

I don't think he had a lot of options and he had to do something with the Rafa disaster.
Watch Zizou put out a midfield of Casemiro/Kroos/Modric behind BBC... with Carvajal as RB and Varane as CB. It's really a no-brainer. Benz will drop in the 9.5 spot too. Bale is the big loser. He's going to be forced to stay wide.

Re: Zinedine Zidane
Finally finished my final year in Uni, took a long ass hiatus (bout 2 months to be exact) from all things related to gaming and even football and Rafa gone and get himself fired. Shame really.
Anyway, nice to back here, let's see how Zidane does.

Do you see how sportz is practically lowering the standard with zidane? He'll keep his job because of the brand of footy even if he doesn't win anything? Spectacle ffs
