Re: We need agility in midfield
Lol, Ramos can be calm and intelligent too, i perfect world, i would have paired Ramos with Schweinsteger. One is a DLP and other is BTB. Ramos is a almost a stopper in central defence, close to the DM like, i am pretty sure he will bet 5x better DM then all our Midfeilders, a DM that would win us TOP matches.
Ramos is too hectic as a CB for my liking, sometimes he does pull an incridible performance mostly because of his incridible physical and technical skills but his concentration and sometimes "advanced" positioning are not that great but still an incridible CB.
The thing is i beleave that he will be really ATL WC in DM/CM. But i wont mind him as CB cuz he is also WC there.

Re: We need agility in midfield
Modric is amazing. He can fit into any team, and any team could make a use of him. He can play your left midfielder, CAM, CM, DM. With his vision he can be a threat anywhere, but is he really that good - to replace Alonso? I rate Alonso pretty high, but our system was never built to do him any favor. This guy is amazing in a 3 man midfield (Liverpool). Or in a 2 CM midfield in (4-4-2 formation) like in Spain (sometimes).mtfootball wrote:@vanDEEZ wrote:i mean.. what agile CM is there that is an improvement to xabi or khedira?
I don't think many will admit there's better than Alonso, but personally I prefer someone like Modric. He's good B2B, good vision, good technically, good dribbling, good shot, good agility etc.
He can fit into our 4-2-3-1 or into a 4-3-3.

Sahin-Lass-Ozil may be the best midfield in the world.
Yeah Sahin will bring you guys that agility
And lass is there for the defensive work , at least you rate him unless some of your mates

I never liked Khedira or Alonso (made that clear in the past) so I would love to change them

Re: We need agility in midfield
I can agree that we were exposed as far as agility in the midfield today, BUT the team should be built around Xabi, Ozil and Ronaldo. At this point in his career, Xabi needs to be in a 3 man midfield to thrive.
Give me:
--------------Iker
RB----Ramos---Pepe----Marcelo
------------Khedira
-----Sahin----------Xabi
-------------Ozil
------Benz-----------Ronaldo
In these types of champions league and Barca fixtures.
When it's balls out destroying Gijon, he's fine in a 2 man mid, or getting rested. He's at his best if he only plays 35-40 games and has support, so he can general.
Benching Alonso is NOT the answer.
