As soon as CR7 did that audacious assist to Benz's (wrongfully) disallowed goal I knew he was gonna have a MOTM performance. He was everywhere tonight, his touches were great, his runs were fantastic, his passes were sharp. Just great.

Alonso was also beasting tonight. He hasn't had a game like this in a while, a monster defensively and pretty much orchestrated all the movements forward. His cheeky chip to Benz was sooo clever.

goal.com ratings are always going to be shitty. goals (no matter if the player played terrible the whole match) are going to boost a players rating by 4 at least.

also, the more famous you are the higher your rating will be,

messi or ronaldo could sit in the corner and cry and they would still be rated at least a 6

i highly doubt messi has ever received a rating of less than 7 on goal.com
