why dont we just bring back canales and sarabia and get rid of lass and altintop. That way the home grown quota gets satisfied and we have a scarily young and brilliant team for the next few years

Lol, I was saying it to annoy you, he's not that bad.

Anyways, from last night's performances Meh'vila and Babun's suggestion of Mehtolivo were both awful in their respective games.

I have the Italian that we should get: Claudio Marchisio! Honestly, anyone tell me he is not the real deal, then you'd really be blind.

Marchisio is very good player but not great.

Vidal on the other hand is some thing..

Watched lot of juve matches this season ,pirlo and vidal are the people who make things happen.Sure Marchisio scores alot and can defend well but his potential is so limited..

If Marchisio can "defend well and score goals" then that is already two things he does better than Khedira. I'm pretty sure he can pass better, long, short and final balls.

Still riding that gago fan boat i see Very Happy

A lot of you guys are mentioning the wrong fit. Marchisio, sure, great lad, with Alonso he would be great. Only, our short term future suggests that an in form Sahin will be leading RM in the coming years.

Is Marchisio the right fit to play next to Sahin? i dont think so. Gago? lol, no.

I think Javi Martinez could be a good fit, but he is a current basque god, so signing him would be incredibly tough.

still, M'vila is the only one we are linked with atm.

Not really. Last night was not an indicator at all. Imagine a Lass-Khedira midfield except that Lass is much better than Diarra is right now... that was doomed to fail. In fact, M'Vila lamented the lack of a playmaker in the midfield after the game. He would get the ball, look up and have to force it someone before getting closed down because nobody would make themselves available. It caused turnovers and rattled him overall as he developed no rhythm.

De Rossi is a bad fit for the type of midfielder we're looking for. La Liga plays much faster than Serie A and, given that Sahin is going to be the main creative force in the midfield, you need to pair someone with him that can support him and allow him to play freely. Age is an issue with De Rossi too...

Today... Of course. But we're not signing anyone for immediate guaranteed starting, which is what Rossi will demand. We need someone who will be there in 2 years when Alonso slows and Sahin takes over.

As interesting as this thread is, the only way M'Vila or any other MF comes is if we get rid of all 3 of Lass, Altintop and Granero and Sahin not developing into key MF for Madrid.

Highly highly unlikely.

We have Alonso, Khedira, Sahin, Coentrao plus whoever remains of Lass, Granero, Altintop. No room and for sure M'Vila won't come to sit on bench.

I'd sell all of the three and promote Alex. Xabi, Sahin, Khedira and Coentrao are more than enough cover for two MF places eco smile

Why? With those three gone, you have no 'extra' dead weight players and instead 4 (5 if you count Coentrao) very good midfielders. That will be hell to rotate in the first year or two, but Alonso will not last forever and probably in that time Mvila will be better then him. Xabi may remain here and be a rotation player, or choose to leave and go back to Sociedad. So we wont be very crowded after all.

Mvila-Sahin is the future. That midfield would dominate.

You won't be able to sell all 3 and M'Vila won't come to be a bench player. Once Sahin gets estalished into team, there will be rotation amongst Xabi, Khedira and Sahin. Late substitutions occasionally will be Lass and Coentrao. And all this talk about missing links in MF will disappear.

We dont need anybody. Our squad is one of the most complete squads i've ever seen. I'm quite certain the we'll the league and cl this year and from next year onwards we'll see our canteros get more playing time. Rather than buying we should look at selling some of our dead weights like lass and altintop.

@Babun, Coentrao is not a midfielder, i am not pretending that he is so that he can fit in the midfield, it's a bust so far, he has no business being here, frankly, had we signed Isla, who is the right sided version of coentrao, we would be happy.

Alex is really good, but he is only going to take meaning for us when Xabi retires or leaves madrid. He is more like a holding midfielder, but needs defensive support. If we go to Adelante, im sure he will get some looks to the first team, but loaning him isnt a bad idea. watch out for Omar as well, he is very good.

Yeah, he is battle ready. Now it's a matter of finding the right club for him, not another one to send to Getafe.

Omar will take over after him, kid is awesome.
