Defensively? Yes! Offensively? Not even close Very Happy

Marcelo's only problem is he leaves space behind him and makes some defensive mistakes [having a fast CB i.e. Ramos really helps cover his position].

Now on the other side he offers us great width going forward that he has been essential to the attack Very Happy

I don't mind that at all as a trade-off

Placing Marcelo as an AM is similar to Woy Hodgson trying to convert Roberto Carlos to a more forward role at Inter: Stupid and silly. Attacking full backs rely on massive amounts of space to be effective. Putting Marcelo higher up would limit a lot of his movements and thus limit his out put.

Please people, let's not get carried away now, we've been doing that way too long...
